How to Integrate Access Control with Your Ticketing Platform

Selling tickets through a ticketing platform and want to control access without entering everything by hand? The short answer: access control connects with your ticketing platform via API or CSV, imports the sold tickets and validates them at the door. No double entry, no loose spreadsheets and no fake tickets.

At SOMOS DER we work continuously with ticketing platforms — Linkearte is our main partner — and also with Eventbrite, custom systems and bespoke databases. Here’s how it works.

The two ways to integrate

1. Via API (automatic). The access system connects directly with the ticketing platform. Sales sync in real time or close to it: whatever gets sold appears ready to validate. Ideal when there are sales right up to the last minute.

2. Via CSV (export). The ticketing platform exports the sold-tickets list and it’s imported into the access system. Simpler, and perfect when sales close ahead of time. An update is done before doors open.

Both are transparent for the organizer: you keep selling where you always have, we validate what you sold.

Why it matters: the end of double entry

Without integration, someone has to move the sold-tickets list into the access system. By hand. With thousands of tickets, that’s hours of work and, worse, a source of errors: names entered wrong, missing tickets, people who paid and are left outside.

Integrating eliminates that step. Whatever gets sold on your ticketing platform gets validated at the door. Full stop.

How integration stops fraud

When the system validates against the ticketing platform’s real database, two things happen:

The result? Reselling the same QR, screenshots and counterfeit tickets collapse on their own. It’s one of the reasons ticketing platforms choose to have a serious access operator behind them.

A case in point: the ticketing platform operating in 12 countries

Linkearte, an international ticketing platform operating in 12 countries, hires us as its access control operator for the events it sells. Through that integration we manage events like Abel Pintos (30 dates, 30,000 attendees), Anuel AA (60,000 fans) and full tours across Argentina, Bolivia, Guatemala and Spain. One single database, validated at the door, no matter the country.

What you need to integrate

Less than you’d think:

  1. Access to the sold-tickets list (via API or CSV export from your ticketing platform).
  2. Defining the ticket types and which zones each one unlocks.
  3. Agreeing on the sales cutoff for the final sync.

With that, the system is ready. The rest — generating the QRs, running the door, validating live — is on us.

Integrating your ticketing platform properly with access control is the difference between a door that flows and one that jams. We’ll help you connect it and run it end to end: access control and accreditation.

FAQ

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

Does access control integrate with any ticketing platform?

Yes. The integration is done via API (automatic connection) or CSV (export of the sold-tickets list). We work continuously with Linkearte and also with Eventbrite, clients' custom systems and bespoke databases. The integration is transparent for the organizer.

Do tickets have to be loaded twice?

No. The whole point of integrating is precisely to avoid double entry: the tickets sold on your platform are imported automatically into the access system, with their ticket types and data. Whatever gets sold gets validated.

What happens if someone buys a ticket minutes before the event?

With API integration, last-minute sales sync in real time or close to it. With CSV, the database is updated before doors open. In both cases we set the cutoff with the organizer so no valid sale is left out.

Does integration help prevent fake tickets?

Yes. By validating against the ticketing platform's real database and generating a unique QR per ticket, the system detects duplicates and rejects codes that don't exist or have already been used. Resale fraud and screenshot fraud are stopped at the door.
